I have been thinking about this question. Any university level views on this? ?

A tree farm operator
models the cumulative total number of Christmas
trees sold, C(t), during December by the formula
C(t) = 0.1t^2 + 10t + 25, where t [1, 24],

t = 1 represents December 1, t = 2 represents December 2, and so on.

a) Explain the strengths and weaknesses of the
formula for C(t). Explain.

It's too complicated. He could have gotten practically the same results with C(t) = 14.2 + 12.5t.

It doesn't have any error estimates.

Does he have to schedule the cutting for each day of the whole season at once? It would be better to take into account the sales on Dec 1, before deciding how many trees to cut for Dec 2 or 3.

The formula does not include any consideration of day of the week, or the weather. I would think those would influence the sales quite a bit.

CURL error code = 28. (Operation timed out after 20000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received)
