Evinrude 6h Fisherman getting HOT?
I have no info. manuals,ect. and need a little help here.The motor is getting hot.I pulled the shaft and pushed water/air through the lower end impeller but it is not working properly,no return water.The number is 6902M-E11024 any info. would be appreciated

I had an old elgin once and it had an overheating problem. I bought it used and it had not been taken care of properly. The previous owner never flushed the motor clean after taking it out in saltwater and everything from the water pump to the head was corroded shut. I took the system apart and cleaned out every water port I could find. I changed the thermostat and the impeller and the unit ran fine.
I would pull the thermostat and see if water comes through when you flush the system, then I would check out the water pump and impeller. These items work hard and don't last forever. Best of luck to you.
